Proposal [1.8MB] pdf
Proposal for a competition on the streetscape around the Hong Kong New World Tower in Shanghai. UiD/Henrik Valeur, Rebecca Zelwak, Sarvdeep Singh Sangwan and Zhang Meng, 2008
The Streetscape in the New World consists of both the existing streets for consumption and distribution and new platforms for recreation and creativity. They will provide places for communication and social interaction, but they will also provide people with new and surprising perspectives of the surroundings. The platforms are light steel structures that can easily be adapted to different contexts, modified and replaced.
Process manual and structure plan for the mixed-use development of a 25 ha new urban area named Musicon. Commissioned and approved by the Municipality of Roskilde.
Leading planning consultants: UiD/Henrik Valeur, Fredrik Fritzson, Esbjörn Kjell and Ma Liang.
The former industrial site is envisioned to become a highly mixed new city district, which will be marked by continuous change and development. The visions were developed in a scenario game in which various stakeholders played the roles of future users.

Open competition for the city
related harbor areas of Aarhus. Proposal by UiD/Henrik Valeur, Søren
Christian Madsen and Anne Katrine Hornemann, 1999.
With its nearly 300,000 inhabitants, Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark. Like other cities it has undergone dramatic transformations over the past 30-40 years. The result of these transformations is a new urban order of loosely connected and highly specialized enclaves.
The proposal suggests a reorganization of the infrastructural network, to meet the need for evermore rapid and effective means of communication. Along with a set of individual strategies of territorialization, accelerating the already ongoing process of urban fragmentation, to satisfy the growing demand for individuality.

Part of project for competition
on a site south of Køge Harbor. UiD/Henrik Valeur, Uwe Wütherich, Ivan
Ikhlef and Victor Tenez Ybern, Barcelona, 1998.
The competition site was a portion of open land located next to the Køge harbour. Facing the sea, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, only a mere 30 minutes drive from the city centre, the airport and the new bridge to Sweden and 60 minutes away from the proposed new bridge to Germany, makes it attractive to commuters who wish to combine the conveniences of modern civilisation with the values of nature.

Part 3 of project for
International competition in 2 stages on the University of Copenhagen –
Faculty of Humanities in the Ørestad, Copenhagen. 9 teams selected for
the final stage. UiD/Henrik Valeur, Fredrik Fritzson, Bjarke Ingels,
Bent Johan Poulsen and Uwe Wuetherich, Barcelona in collaboration with
landscape architect Camilla Hjerl, Copenhagen and consulting engineers
Ole Vanggaard, Copenhagen and Buro Happold, London, 1997.
Apart from the existing university complex Ørestad North is a flat vacant lot of 395.000 m2 landfill with low green vegetation, that is to be developed into a total floor area of 461.500 m2 with a mixed programme over the next 20 - 30 years. The boundless flatness of the site is a common characteristic of the Danish landscape. It lets your longings travel unhindered.
Extracts from the jury's report: As a whole, this entry can be seen as a contribution to the discussion of the university of the future and ways in which planning can actively intervene in a building project which is to be developed over an extended period of time.
